A Big Horn Sheep in Banff National Park

We departed Jasper around 9 a.m. mountain time....it was quite cold and cloudy. As we headed toward Banff on Hwy 93 we were wowed by this awesome land. We got to see elk, bear, and big horn sheep today.

We stopped at the Columbia Ice field for hot chocolate.

We stopped in Banff for a bowl of soup at a pub. Banff now has free covered parking!

As we continued south the weather improved. By the time we got to Calgary it was 60 degrees and sunny.

It was only a 400 mile ride but it wiped us out.

We are now in Cardston, Alberta - just north of the US border in Glacier National Park. We found a nice motel with a not so great place to eat next door. The only claim to fame was it was CLOSE because we were tired.

Larry's father has improved enough to return to his home town so we will continue our journey home to California.
